NIK COM Ltd., in collaboration with its partners, has completed the Main Design for the Expansion of the Možura Regional Sanitary Landfill, commissioned by Možura Ltd., Bar.
The project provides for the construction of new sanitary landfill cells with a total disposal capacity of 828,419 m³, significantly increasing the capacity for the safe disposal of municipal solid waste in accordance with modern environmental protection standards.
The technical solution includes the design of a multilayer bottom and final lining system comprising HDPE geomembranes, geosynthetic clay liners (GCL), geotextiles, and drainage layers, as well as systems for leachate collection and treatment, surface water drainage, and infrastructure for future landfill gas management. Particular attention has been devoted to the phased development of the landfill, enabling its planned future expansion.
The project represents a significant contribution to the improvement of the waste management system in Montenegro through the application of modern engineering solutions that ensure the long-term protection of soil, groundwater, and the environment.
The estimated value of the investment is approximately EUR 19 million.
