Our company carried out the Main Design of fire hydrant networks for 13 tunnels along the Smokovac–Mateševo section of the Bar–Boljare Highway.
This highway represents the first motorway ever built in Montenegro, and the Smokovac–Mateševo section has a total length of approximately 41 km. The works covered the entire stretch of tunnels within this strategically important infrastructure project.
The project scope included:
–Hydraulic simulations of the fire hydrant networks for all 13 tunnels;
-Dimensioning of reservoir capacities;
-Preparation of construction designs for all reservoirs;
-Selection and sizing of pumping stations to ensure the required pressure at each hydrant;
-Design of pipeline systems inside the tunnels, using ductile iron pipes with a diameter of 100 mm.
The total length of all pipelines amounts to approximately 36 km.
This project played a crucial role in ensuring fire safety and operational reliability for the Smokovac–Mateševo motorway section, which forms a key segment of Montenegro’s main north–south transport corridor.
